Rev. Patrick Ian Jackson hails from Bartlett, Tennessee, just northeast of Memphis — a place that gave him an enduring love of barbecue, SEC football, and vibrant, spirit-filled worship. He earned a B.A. from Harvard in 1992 and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2001, then spent seven years as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill and nearly six years practicing law in Columbus, Ohio.
After years in law and politics, he sensed God calling him to do more with his gifts. Through prayer and counsel he accepted his call to ministry in 2013, earning his M.Div. with honors from Andover Newton Theological School in 2017. He was ordained at Richmond's First Baptist Church in 2019, and went on to serve five years as Pastor of First Baptist Church–Church of the Brethren in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
His passions include the Bible, music, writing, mystery novels, travel, and encouraging others to find the humor in life. His ultimate desire is to use his God-given gifts in creative ways to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
